ART I OBJECTIVE

ART I

GRAPHITE EYE TUTORIALS

ART I is a class designed for the beginning art student. Although it is the first class in a series of six, it is not necessarily "easier". In Art I, students work on becoming familiar with the art elements: line, shape, form, value, color, texture and space, with an emphasis on value recognition and accuracy.

Students will work in only black and white media: graphite, charcoal, white charcoal, and pen, and will create value study drawings using the grid technique to accurately depict images in photo-realism.

Creativity is encouraged, but the focus of Art I is to gain skills and techniques necessary to accurately depict the elements in a work of art.

To see samples of the artwork, click on Art I and visit the individual projects.
